October Yoga Streak Challenge

Happy October 1st bloggies! I love autumn, and October is one of my favourite months because it’s cool, but not cold, its festive but not crazy over the top, and it’s the real kick off to sweater, boot and hot cocoa season 😉

The beginning of a new month also means there is an influx of fitness challenges on blogs, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram – everywhere! I wasn’t planning to add another to the list, but when I decided that I would like to challenge myself to start a yoga streak, I decided what the heck? I’ll throw it up on here so anyone else who wants to join in can, and if nothing else it’ll help keep me more accountable!

31 Day

The rules are simple p arctic yoga everyday in the month of October (which will hopefully continue on into a daily yoga practise in the days, weeks and months after October). There are no rules about how long you have to practice, what poses to do, how long to hold them, what time of day – just practise at some point every single day for the entire month.

On a super busy day your practise might be 5 minutes of final relaxation/corpse pose before bed, maybe some breathing exercises, a sun salutation or two, or a yoga class. Whatever your practise looks like for you on any given day, take the time and set the intention to do something.

I have added a rule to the challenge for myself, and that is that I can’t count yoga done while teaching a class as my practise for any given day. Any instructor can tell you teaching is not the same as maintaining your own practise, and for the past year or more, my practise has rarely surfaced between classes. That bothers me and is exactly why I decided to challenge myself to a yoga streak!
