You guys…
insert happy dance here!
I haven’t managed to get 7 hours of sleep in one night since I started tracking my sleep back on Christmas! Sure I was in bed for over 12 hours to get those 7 hours of sleep, but I’ll take it!
And the night before…
5 1/2 hours!? That’s fantastic! So a 5 1/2 hour night followed by a 7 hour night? What is going on here? Whatever magical thing is happening I hope it continues! I almost am afraid that by type this I’m jinxing myself. I guess we’ll find out tonight.
In case you’ve missed my other posts ( <–link to the last one), I’ve been having an atrocious time sleeping for months. I have some much upper body pain that keeps me awake, and then wakes me up, coupled with insomnia. On average I have been getting about 3 1/2 hours of broken up sleep for the past 3 months (at least. That’s when I started tracking my sleep).
On Friday I was so tired that I laid down for a nap shortly after 1pm, and I slept until 5pm 😮
And right now, I almost feel human. If this trend continues I might not feel like death 24/7 and that would be most welcome!
In trying to figure out what exactly led to this turn around the past two nights, I’m a bit stumped. I fell off the vitamin train a week ago (the problem with being exhausted all the time is you tend to forget to do things…) so I can’t attribute it to that, and nothing else has really changed.
I sort of feel like it’s because we are starting (Ever so slowly) to move into spring, and that the cold winter months are what really do me in, I guess the coming weeks will either prove or disprove that theory. I sort of hope that, that is the case because that means there is some relief in my future! However, that also means come next fall/winter I’ll be back in the same boat (if you recall it was last winter that I really started having problems that I blamed entirely on overtraining but it’s possible that it was my Fibromyalgia and winter that were the real culprit. Not getting enough sleep can certainly run havoc on your hormones and that was the underlying issue I think). But if that is the case, at least I have 6-7 months to figure out some sort of game plan.
For now I’m just going to cross my fingers and hope that spring comes quickly, and I keep sleeping!
As far as pain goes, there hasn’t been much relief on that front. My arms especially continue to give me a lot of grief. A week ago I tried my Tommie Copper compression shirt for the first time, and that night was the first night that I didn’t have any arm or shoulder pain in months! I’m not sure if it was a coincidence or if the shirt really made that much difference so I’m going to wear it a few more times before I post my review. I’m really hoping it was the shirt, how amazing would that be!?!?
Well that’s all for now, I’m thinking about participating in VEDA (vlog everyday in April) this year just to force myself to get into video, but I don’t know if anyone would even want to watch me in a quick ramble each day. If you’d like to see me posting some videos let me know!

Hooray for a better night of sleep! Maybe I need to start allowing myself longer in bed and then I might get over 5 – I don’t know what the solution is.

It really is helpful (I find) to allow myself as much time as possible, and getting to bed early, though a super pain does seem to help. They say the sleep from 11-2 is more “restful” than sleep any other time of the day. There was a reason behind that theory but I don’t really recall what it was now, lol I was probably too tired to remember 😉
I would loooooveee to see some videos of your daily life and especially you teaching (or preparing) zumba classes..
Awww that would be really great and I’d have something fun to look forward to every day ♥
But i also know it also takes much time to make those short Videos… so it’s up to you, but i would watch them :))
I’m doing it! 😀
