Welcome to day 2 of my holiday gift guide! Today I want to share a brand that is still quite new to Canada, but has been taking the world by storm – Beautycounter.
I’ve been making changes in my life these last few years to use more non-toxic products and to reduce the number of endocrine disruptors that I come in contact with on a daily basis. I know that there are a lot of chemicals I come in contact with that I cannot control, so it makes sense for me (and us all) to be more mindful of the chemicals we choose to put on our skin.
I switched to greener hair products, shower gel/soap and deodorant (though I still have to use the toxin filled deodorant on days I’m teaching – for the sake of my clients if nothing else, ha!). But one place where I hadn’t really found toxin-free products I liked was makeup, so when Lisa, a Beautycounter rep in Ontario contacted me about trying Beautycounter I was excited to both try some products and add them to my gift guide!
Lisa was kind enough to send me the “Flawless in Five” which consists of six products to help you look flawless in five minutes. When the box arrived I was so excited, and hoped that I would love the products as much as I loved the packaging!
When ordering the Flawless in Five you get to personalize your order to get all the right colour for you which is really awesome. The set includes:
- Tint Skin Hydrating Foundation
- Touchup Skin Concealer Pen
- Color Define Brow Pencil
- Lengthening or Volumizing Mascara
- Powder Blush Duo
- Lip Gloss
Everything I chose was perfect for my skin tone, and since I started my search for a cleaner foundation I haven’t found anything that I like nearly as much as the Beautycounter Tint Skin Hydrating Foundation.
And while I’d never call myself flawless, I certainly feel like a much more polished version of myself when I take 5 minutes to put on the Flawless in Five collection.
I’ve loved the products so much that I decided to join Beautycounter as an Independent Rep – not to build a team or anything, but to be able to offer my clients access to cleaner make-up and skin care.
Over the coming months I will be sharing more about my favourite products as I try more out, but for the sake of this gift guide I’m sticking to the makeup.
While the Flawless in Five collection might be a bit pricey at $178 Cdn for gift giving, it’s a great value overall considering all it includes. I know when purchased individually even store-brands that aren’t clean and toxin free will add up to $178 or more. But just the same, you might be looking for something a bit more affordable so I wanted to share links to a few of the holiday gift sets like the Eye Trio Holiday Set that comes with a volumizing mascara, liquid eyeliner and silk cream eyeshadow in a beautiful red box for $46 (value of $84). Pictured below is the nude eye trio but it also comes in smokey eye as well.
Please be sure to check out all the awesome holiday gift sets by clicking here, but before you go, I want to share one more amazing product that I picked up – the Ultimate Nudes Eyeshadow Palette. First of all, how gorgeous is the packaging?
And then inside you find 18 beautiful nude eyeshadow colours. With matte, satin and metallic finishes all included as well as a removable mirror and double-ended brush it has everything you need for natural everyday looks and smokey eyes for a night out on the town.
At $108 this is definitely an investment piece, but an investment that will last for years – all while allowing you to achieve the looks you want with a cleaner make-up line.
As of Sunday, there was low stock left for the Ultimate Nudes Palette. If you want to pick this up I’d suggest doing so ASAP!
There are so many affordable options for great sets you can give as one gift, or break up into multiple gifts like the perfect pout trio for $58 which could serve as gifts for three of your girlfriends or your kids teachers or the Glow and Go Mini OIl set which can be broken up into another 3 gifts for only $34!
The holiday gift sets are going quickly though, so if you want to pick one (or more) of them up, be sure to act quickly! You won’t be disappointed!
