I’m not a gluten-free girl, but that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate good gluten-free food – or that I don’t understand how difficult it can be to be gluten-free. That’s why I am so happy to tell you about some new products in the President’s Choice line-up that are gluten-free to make the life of those of you living with a gluten intolerance or allergy a little bit easier!
Years ago when I was seeing a naturopath trying to get all my problems sorted out, one of the things I had to do was go gluten-free for a period. In the end, I think it lasted 2-3 months, but fortunately for me, when I reintroduced gluten, nothing bad happened so I was able to leave gluten-free living behind me. But because of that experience, I do know what it’s like to be gluten-free.
And to be honest, the baked goods I made back then, were chewy, dry and sad. So while I am a cupcake aficionado I was both scared and concerned when these beauties arrived in my last President’s Choice product shipment
Gluten-Free Chocolate Cupcakes! Could it be too good to be true? I am happy to report that they are NOT too good to be true! They are delicious! And had I not seen them come out of the gluten-free container, I’d never guess they were. Clearly, things have changed since my day making gluten-free foods!
All I could think is, how nice is it for parents with gluten-free kids (and gluten-free adults too!) to now be able to easily pick up these cupcakes pre-made at the store? When they are going to a birthday party or something, you can easily pick-up a 4-pack so they don’t feel left out during cake time and you don’t have to spend hours preparing gluten-free treats yourself.
I was also sent the new PC Gluten-free Four-Cheese Tortellini which was another delicious experience. These Tortellini are made of egg noodles and are again delicious. Without knowing they were gluten-free you’d never think anything of it.
I used the recipe on the PC website to make the Tortellini with Fresh Tomato Herb Sauce you see above, and highly recommend both the product and the recipe. Of course, they pretty much had me won over with pasta + cheese. 😉
I know they have a full line of new gluten-free pastas which includes the tortellini shown above in the fresh pasta section of the grocery store. So if you are gluten-free and haven’t checked them out lately please do! These, and all of the other gluten-free PC products I’ve tried have tasted great.
Disclosure: I received the products mentioned in this post free of charge but was not obligated to write this post. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.

Okay so here is a true story: I got diagnosed with Celiac disease about 4-5 years ago and since then, if people have asked me what I miss the most my answer is always CHEESE TORTELLINI! I have actually never, ever, seen it in a GF option and it was one of my favourite foods. I once bought $8 GF ravioli but it was not the same… I mean, it was probably good for me not to eat so much cheesy pasta, but I have missed it for years. That dish you made looks amazing, and I can’t believe there is finally a GF cheese tortellini. I’m actually going to go buy this tomorrow…
Did you try it yet!? I hope you loved it!
