September Faves

I’ve been a little bit all over the place this past year or two with my “faves”. I started out doing them every week, but I had a hard time coming up with new things every week and then I was going to make them a monthly occurrence but that never happened, so here I am once again trying to make “faves” happen.

And I feel a bit like I’m Gretchen Wieners trying to make fetch happen.

fetch

I hope it doesn’t come to that 😉

Here is what I’m loving from September!

LUSH Charity Pot

I bought a small pot the last time I was in the store and I love it like crazy! You only need a little bit, and I really love the smell of it and the fact that 100% of the purchase price (minus the taxes) goes to charity.

CoSchedule

coschedule

I know I talked about them before, but since this post  I’ve upgraded to the paid version and it is even more fantastic! Well worth the $10 US/month it costs. CoSchedule is a blogging miracle. No doubt.

Adrenal Reset Diet

I’ve made it no secret here that I’ve been dealing with adrenal/hormone issues for the past 18 months or so, and when I heard Alan talk in a online summit I attended I knew I needed to pick up his book when it comes out at the end of December. Luckily for me, I was able to get my hands on an advanced copy and I gobbled it up like a starving kitten. I’ve gathered information from as many experts as possible over these 18 months, including taking the initiative to become a nutrition and weight loss specialist myself (I still need to write that dang final exam!). Even so I learned so much from this book it was amazing. I’ve put a number of the protocols into action and am already sleeping so much better, and feeling better physically than I have in quite a while. I swear to you all, having a body that is working with you and not against you is the single most important factor in improving your health. And the factor that many physicians don’t believe in, or don’t understand. This book is fab.

Gotham

I know we are only 2 episodes in but I am already smitten with Gotham. And that’s saying something since I watched the entire season (series? I’m still not sure if it was a mini series or a regular series) of Extant and I’m still not sure if I like it. Of course you throw super hero stuff on TV and I’m certain to watch it (which means I’d be surprised if The Flash doesn’t make my October Faves list!).

The ABC’s of Kids Yoga

This year I’m doing a lot more yoga classes for kids than I have in the past so I checked out this book to see what sort of fun stuff it might have to offer.

What I really like about the book is that it acts out all of the poses is a fun way, like adding your leg to take cat/cow into sun bird but saying that it is the cat’s tail and other little actions like that, that help keep smaller kids interested but on task. It’s also written in a sing-song format so that each pose has a little verse that goes with it. This would be a great way for parents to start to introduce yoga to their kids. I know I had a sign language book when I was small that I was obsessed with, and learned the whole alphabet in sign language from it. I realize sign language and yoga aren’t the same thing, but the point is introducing things to children when they are small.

That’s it for this month’s list!

Have you been watching Gotham? Are there any other news shows that you really enjoy? I am in love with Outlander, but it premiered in August so I couldn’t but it on my September list :/

Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links. I received both the Adrenal Reset Diet and The ABC’s of Kids Yoga for free from Net Galley for purpose of reviewing on their site. I was not required to blog about either book, and am only sharing them with you now because I think they are both great books that people should know about.
