Volume 50

Happy Easter! It’s new Zumba music day!

Here are the songs found on this month’s release, as well as any artist information and videos I could find!

Fiesta (Merengue Urbano) – Zumba Fitness Original

Here To Stay (Electronic/Glitch Hop) – Zomboy

Chucucha (Merengue Tribal) – Ilegales

Mambo Salsa (Salsa) – BIP

Grita Gol (Batucada) – Zumba Fitness Original

Blin Blin (Flamenco/Salsa) – Zumba Fitness Original

Latinos A Ganar (Ragamuffin) – El General

Donde Estes Llegare (Reggaeton) – Alexis y Fido

Moda Nova (Axe) – Claudia Leitte

I haven’t put the DVD in my player yet so I have no idea what the choreos look like for any of these songs, so I’m going to hold my final judgement until I’ve watched the release. ย For now I can say that not many of the songs are “jumping” at me, but sometimes that changes once I hear them a few times and see some routines.

What do you guys think?

I loved the live class. Some of the songs, just hearing them, I was kind of “Meh” about. But then I saw the live class and I was like “Oh ho!” potential.

The one-on-one is with Sandra Harnes and that’s pretty good too. She has a lot of energy. I also love her pink hair. ๐Ÿ˜‰

That’s exactly how I felt listening to the cd in the car. Hopefully the DVD perks me up too!!

Not impressed! Just blah IMO. I look at the routines as if I was one of my students and they would not be excited about this ZIN volume. I was thrilled to see April “Smile” Smith in one of the live class songs as she was the ZES I took my training with a year ago. It was cool to see that each song used different ZES/Instructors featured on the live part of the DVD.

I forgotten the zest team is one this one! At least that makes me want to watch it now!

This is my 1st zin volume! I was so excited, I did every routine (all 18). The mambo salsa is hot! Grita gol is what I expected, I like batchucada. I didn’t like donde Estes Llegare or the axe routine until I saw the adorable 1-on-1 choreos. I like the “here to stay” song but the choreo is strange. It seems like it doesn’t fit zumba… This volume was samba-heavy…

I also liked the dale cuerda a la cadera bonus song, but where can I get it?!? I can’t find it for sale anywhere! Was it on a previous zin cd?

      I still haven’t watched it! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I checked my library and I don’t have that song so either it’s coming on another CD or maybe it’s a download from Zumba.com? I’m really not sure – but now I have to check it out!

I like some songs, but mostly the moment I see choreo and do it live at class i feel the CD ๐Ÿ˜‰ right now i really like here to stay

For sure, you always feel differently about it once you’ve done a routine! I know there have been songs I totally brushed off then did at a master class and LOVED!

This was my first ZIN too…. at first I didnt like any of the songs and I was very disappointed…. but then I listened again and Mambo Salsa and Latinos A Ganar started to grow on me!! I’ve mastered the live choreo to Latinos A Ganar and I have to say I love it now!!!!! The one thing that was hard about it was the knee lift move in that routine doesn’t have the same # in each section…. and I couldn’t find that the live choreo notes are written down anywhere?

I think the Salsa is growing on me, and whatever the first song is called too. A few more listens and I might like acouple more of them ๐Ÿ˜‰

I think you’re right, I believe we only get choreo notes for the one on one versions. I haven’t looked them up in so many years I don’t recall. Do you think they made a mistake in recording or that it’s got different lengths of music (I admit I’ve only quickly breezed through the DVD so I didn’t notice)?

It’s different lengths of music…. and it would really have helped me learn it if they had written it down…. lol

That’s super annoying. Check the one-on-one choreo notes, it might still reference the different lengths of that section!

There have only been a couple of live class routines that I’ve used as I generally find I prefer the one-on-one routines better; this DVD is no exception. I’ve already incorporated the Axรฉ & Here To Stay (Glitch Hop is fun!).

I’m looking to add Fiesta as I love that kick-upward body roll combo. The problem I have is that I cannot do a turn if it has less than 8 counts to it (I just might as well stagger & lay down because that’s where I’d end up if I did that quick turn). Has anyone any suggestions to substitute those turns at the end? The sound isn’t quite right to beat a dead horse by repeating the previous kick/body roll combo.

    Thanks!

      I’ll take a look at the choreo tonight and let you know if I have any ideas! {if you don’t hear back from me tomorrow shoot me an email because it means I’ve forgotten! suzi@confessionsofafitnessinstructor.com }

You’re right, I just watched both it and the live version, check Beto’s version in the live section, he repeats a move for that closing sequence but it’s not the move he uses for the choreo (which is what she does), and his ending didn’t strike me as out of place. I don’t have tim to go back and re-watch it to figure out what he did but if you can see what moves he re-used for the ending you should be able to do the same (but sub the choreo from the one-on-one version) if that makes sense (it does in my head ๐Ÿ˜‰ )
