I’m usually pretty good about doing a big meal prep on Sundays, pre-cooking breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and a couple of dinners to make life a bit easier during the week. But every once in a while I don’t get all my cooking done (or choose to enjoy more time relaxing on Sundays versus cooking) and have to throw something together on the weekdays for quick breakfasts.
Last week was once of those weeks, but thankfully Kellogg’s had sent me an assortment of their new ready-to-eat cereals and on-the-go snack bars with no artificial colours or flavours.
Included in the package were the new Special K nourish bar flavours Coconut Cashew & Dark Chocolate and Caramel, Sea Salt & Mixed Nuts (hello yum!), as well as the new Trail Mix flavour of Vector Protein bars great for on the go snacking. Two bags of Special K nourish popped granola in Mixed Berries and Dark Chocolate Coconut, All-Bran Granola – Cranberry Almond and Kellogg’s All-Bran Multi-Grain Crunch.
Last week wasn’t the best week as far as sleep goes. Our weather has been a bit all over the map and I attribute that to my inability to sleep. Whatever the reason, the Vector Protein bars saved me on a more than one occasion.
Not the ideal breakfast, but definitely a lot better than nothing at all when you are rushing out the door to get to a class. With 10g of protein they aren’t as protein rich as a typical protein bar, but with 10g of protein, it was enough to fuel me through a class before I could get a larger meal.
On mornings when I had a bit more time, but still didn’t want to spend 20 minutes on breakfast I pulled together this super cute, healthy breakfast parfait.
The Special K Nourish Mixed Berry Popped Granola layered between greek yogurt and fresh raspberries make for a showstopping, delicious, but fast breakfast.
And let me tell you, popped granola is amazing. I don’t even know how to describe it, but it is light and delicious and unlike any other granola I’ve ever had.
Another one of my time-saving tricks is to make a smoothie the night before and keep in the fridge overnight in a shaker bottle. That was you can quickly grab it in the morning on your way out the door, or, if you have a bit more time, give the bottle a shake and pour your smoothie out in a bowl and top with granola to create a delicious smoothie bowl.
Have a preconceived notion of what All-Bran cereals taste like? Think again. You’d never know this was All-Bran!
Delicious, fast, and satisfying. Quick breakfasts don’t have to mean freezer waffles!
While I try to keep the processed foods we keep in the house to a minimum, keeping a few easy-to-grab options like these new products from Kellogg’s make life easier. Especially when those products contain no artificial flavours or colours.

Pre-planning and pre-making meals is fabulous, but it’s always good to have a backup plan, and I’m glad to have these new options from Kellogg’s in my pantry for those times when you need a little something extra.
Disclosure: Kellogg’s Canada provided me with the products featured in this post free of charge. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Would those same breakfast ideas be good for an evening snack, or too much protein, or calories?
A god amount of protein before bed can actually help you sleep more soundly. I would probably avoid the chocolate just before bed, but otherwise they would make for a great evening snack
I just love yoghurt and granola and fruit! I usually make my own granola but this looks delicious and great for a quick breakfast. kellogs has those GF nourish bars you shared before and i just love them! the chocolate almond one? SO DELICIOUS.
RIGHT!? So good. I like making my own granola too, but sometimes time gets the better of me 😉
P.S. I’m super sad to not have got to see you all week :'( dumb snow!
