Get the Perfect Fit with eShakti

Shopping for clothes can be a lot of fun, it can also be very frustrating. As a curvy girl with muscles, it can be really difficult for me to find clothes that fit me in the shoulder/upper back, chest and hips, without looking like I’m wearing a fabric sack. That’s why I stick to a lot of basics – tank tops and t-shirts with wraps and cardigans and the odd well fitting skirt or dress.

This past year or so I’ve put on some weight (both of the muscle and fat category) which has made shopping for things like coats, button up shirts (FORGET ABOUT IT) and dresses really quite frustrating.

So when eShakti contacted me a month or so ago to see if I would be interested in reviewing another one of their pieces (you can see my first review here) I was eager to have the opportunity.

eShakti is a Women’s Fashion Clothing brand who makes custom clothing ensuring you always get a great fit. They have a huge catalog of clothing pieces you can choose from from shirts and blouses, to dresses and shirts – even jeans that you can have made exactly to your measurements.

Last time around I got this lovely black dress,

(which I currently cannot zip up thanks to my upper back) 

and was really impressed at both the quality of the piece, as well as how well it fit. I remember being worried once I hit send that I measured incorrectly or done something that was going to make my dress not fit quite right. But I was wrong, it fit absolutely perfectly!

I had a hard time deciding what to choose this time. I bounced around a lot between different colours of this wrap dress,

a pair of jeans,

or this Melton Knit Fit and Flare Coat in Charcoal.

Ultimately I chose the coat, knowing that my “dressy” winter coat is quite tight through the shoulders for me right now and it would be nice to have something besides my puffy winter jacket if I have somewhere nice to go and it was likely to get more use than a dress, and I already have four pairs of jeans.

I updated my measurements and sent my order off, and once again crossed my fingers hoping that I didn’t make any mistakes.

While eShakti makes custom items, you don’t have to order something custom made to your size, they offer standard sizing from 0-36W, and within each piece, you can often choose a few other customizations. For instance, I was able to choose the length of my coat, what type of collar I wanted as well as the arm length. Because it is outerwear for colder temperatures, I opted for the length as shown above as well as full length sleeve versus a bracelet length, and left the collar as is.

Because my order had to be made from scratch, I expected it to take quite a while to be finished and shipped but I had it in my hands in less than two weeks!

Once again, as  I lifted the piece out of it’s box I said a silent prayer in hopes that it would fit – that I hadn’t done any wrong measuring. And I hadn’t! It fits wonderfully. It’s nice to have something that fits just right all over. That can be such a rare find. And priced at $104.95, it is so much more affordable that you might think to have a custom made piece like this.

I’m really in love with my new jacket, it’s warm enough to wear in the winter for dressier occasions, but it light enough that I don’t feel weighed down. It’s so rare that I can find a coat with sleeves that are long enough, never mind one that fits me perfectly everywhere.

Having had two wonderful experiences with eShakti, I wouldn’t think twice about ordering from them again in the future. It’s so wonderful to have items made to fit you – instead of you trying to fit into something that is already made!

Just now looking around the site I see they even have four wedding dress styles available, three of which ar under $200, and the last is $401.95, which is still an amazing price for a custom made wedding dress!

They even send a trial fit muslim dress for you to try on before they make the actual wedding dress to ensure everything fits and looks perfect. I am almost sorry I’m already married because this is a spectacular find for anyone who wants a custom made dress without the huge custom made price tag.
