After many (many) years of lusting and wishing for one, I am the owner of a pretty blue Clarisonic Mia2
I have honestly been wanting one of these for at least 6 years! They are so expensive though, I just didn’t think I would ever feel like it was worth the money since I don’t have really problematic skin. And then…I got a fantastic coupon code for a Clarisonic unit which actually made it pretty affordable.
Before you ask, the coupon code was a one-time use code that Klout sent, so I’m sorry I can’t hook anyone else up with one.
Anywho, back to the details. Mia entered my life two weeks ago and I’ve been using her everyday since. I’ve heard that at first you can get a lot of redness and even a breakout as your skin adjusts to the Clarisonic, but I haven’t experienced either (which is amazing since I breakout into a rash whenever someone even mentions the word “serum”).
I decided on the Mia 2 over the Mia (though there are other models too, these were the only two I really looked into) largely because it has a built in 1 minute timer. It is made so that after 20 seconds it pauses telling you it’s time to move from your forehead down to your nose and chin, then after another 20 seconds it pauses again to tell you to go to one cheek and then one last time to indicate you should then move to the second cheek. I know prior to this I never spent a full minute washing my face (it was more of a 10-15 second ritual), but I don’t mind the extra time, in fact it’s quite enjoyable. But maybe I’m just weird. 😉 The Mia 2 also comes with two speeds, but thus far I’ve stuck to the low speed.
A small bottle of Clarisonic face wash comes in the package, and I used it for the first week, but I’ve now gone back to using my usual Simple Skin cleanser with no issues.
Have I noticed a big difference in my skin since I started using it? Honestly, not really. But like I said above, I don’t typically have a lot of skin issues.
However, while I don’t feel like my skin looks different, it absolutely feels different. Because I workout so much, I tend to get a lot of dead skin buildup, especially on the sides of my nose and chin, and both have felt a million times cleaner since I started using the Clarisonic. And just in general my face feels so much cleaner. After I wash it at night I find myself touching my face (counter productive, I know…) because it just feels soooo clean and smooth.
I love it!
Do I love it so much that I would have paid full price for one? I really don’t know. I have wanted one for many, many moons but I wasn’t able to justify the cost until I got that coupon code so I really can’t say for sure. I definitely think it’s worth the full price, I just don’t know if I would have taken the leap without the discount.
If you are like me and have been looking at them for a while wondering if you should get one, if you have some money saved up and can afford to get one, I would def. say to go for it!!
