Back in mid-March, I received a few pieces of Tommie Copper clothing as part of a campaign with Fitfluential LLC.
What is Tommie Copper?
If you’re not familiar with their line (I wasn’t until this campaign came up), here is a quote from their website:
Tommie Copper was founded in 2011 as a natural solution to increasing muscle & joint performance, pain relief and recovery. In doing so, Tommie Copper created the category of copper-infused apparel; apparel that actually helps you feel better and live positively. Tommie Copper offers compression and active apparel that offer increased performance, recovery and pain relief during sports, work and everyday activities.
Activated copper is at the core of every TC garment. By a proprietary process, it is permanently and densely infused into all performance yarns, releasing ions that provide anti-microbial protection, skin benefits and help you feel better.
As you can imagine, I was excited to try the products not only for recovery but in hopes that they would provide some additional relief from my joint muscle pain caused by fibromyalgia.
The pieces I received were the women’s long sleeve compression shirt and the full-length legging (in bright pink!!).
Choosing my pieces…
I’m always a little hesitant about choosing clothing sizes online from a line I’ve never tried before, but I went with my regular size in both the top and the leggings and they both fit perfectly.
They are of course compression garments so they fit snugly but not overly so. You can certainly feel the fabric hugging your body/muscles and if I had gone up a size from my usual I’m not sure that I would have had the desired compression fit.
The reason I chose the long-sleeved shirt when I picked out my items for review is that I have a lot of arm and shoulder pain thanks to my fibromyalgia. My shoulder and arms bother me more than any other part of my body, so I was anxious to see if the shirt would make any difference.
My experience
The first day I wore it was on a Saturday after teaching Zumba Toning, and that night was the first night in months that my shoulder didn’t hurt or keep me up!
I didn’t actually realize until Sunday afternoon that I had worn the shirt the previous day. I didn’t want to say anything in case it was a fluke – I wanted to do more testing!
But the problem is, the only time I get to go all day in the same clothes is on the weekends so I had to wait for the next weekend to try it again – and again, another shoulder pain-free night! Obviously I can’t tell you 100% that the shirt is what caused me to be pain-free. It seems like a pretty big coincidence, that after at least 4 months of shoulder pain every night, the few times I’ve worn my Tommie Copper shirt during the day are the few nights I’ve gone pain-free.
As for my pinkalicious leggings, I’ve worn them a few times and have found them to be comfortable for everything from Zumba to yoga. They are super comfy and the waistband doesn’t dig in (like some do). My only criticism is I wish the inseam were a tinge longer (yes tinge is a technical term), but that’s just me with my long old legs being nit-picky.
I have another pair of hot pink tights from a different company that I have to wear exclusively as tights because even though they were advertised as athletic tights the rear region is 150% see-through.
That is not the case here, and while one needs to be a bit mindful of what colour underwear they are wearing in hot pink leggings, you can tell from my picture above that you can’t see my underwear (and yes, I was wearing some!).
The product line
They have a great range of products including knee and elbow sleeves, calf sleeves and compression knee socks. The links I’ve provided are all for the women’s line but they do have a full selection for men as well.
I’ll say again that I can’t be completely sure that it was the shirt that has led me to this few pain-free nights, I gotta say it seems like a pretty big coincidence if it wasn’t! If you are suffering from muscle and joint pain I would certainly urge you to give the Tommie Copper line a try, they have a 60-day money-back guarantee so if you find that the products don’t work for you, you can return them!
Update: I’ve published a second review of Tommie Copper clothing here if you’d like to check that out!
Disclosure: I was provided with the items mentioned in this blog post free of charge from Tommie Copper as part of a campaign through Fitfluential LLC in exchange for my honest review, and that is what this is. All thoughts, opinions and experiences are 100% my own. They are not for sale.

Isn’t it great? I’m really loving it! Thanks for dropping by! 😀
I LOVE my pink ones!
I wondered if your pink capris were Tommie Copper too! Now I just need to get some Mizunos and we could be twins! 😀
I was wondering about how snug things should feel, I usually wear an extra large, size across the bust 42, so according to Tommie copper may a a large would be technically better, the shirt feels skin tight bu not overly so. I have some shoulder ain after a car accident. Any thoughts would be great
I would go according to the chart. You do want it snug but not tight, try emailing them if you are unsure – I bet they can help!
Thanks so much for the honest review…was thinking of purchasing some for my mother, who had knee surgery about a year ago. She’s had trouble/pain with her ankles (we’ve tried every powder, pill and supplement on the market for circulation, pain, swelling!) so I’m hoping this might work. Thanks again!
Good luck! I hope it helps her!
