Heeeeeeey! How is today going? Good I hope!
I taught Zumba Gold this morning, and then I took a trip back to my old high school to teach a Zumba class for their wellness day. I can honestly tell you that the group of teens I had today was the best group (of any age) I’ve ever had in school! I’ve taught the grade primary kids right up to the seniors over the years and today’s group was amazing! Sometimes (and by sometimes I mean most of the time) at least part of the group doesn’t want to do the class or session, and it’s a real downer but these kids were great! This afternoon I’ve been trying to tackle some of the things on my to-do list that I’ve been ignoring, and tonight I’ve got Zumba Toning. Wednesdays are usually my “chill out” day so I feel a little off being so busy, but I’ve got a few more busy days ahead of me so hopefully they will run a bit more smoothly since I worked all afternoon today.
Today is the end of April (finally!), I’m so ready for some warmer weather and sunshine! You may have noticed that my VEDA attempt fell off before Easter. It’s not that I didn’t have time to make the videos each day, I just didn’t feel like the topics were interesting enough for me to continue with. However, the good news is doing the videos for the length of time I did helped me get more comfortable with vlogging which brings me to the topic of today’s post!
For years I’ve wanted to do a weekly vlog that was bits and pieces of my work week. I know my work life is a bit weird compared to what most of you are use to, and being the walking disaster that I am, weird things are forever happening to me that aren’t worth writing about but would translate much better on video.

For instance, last week I taught an entire class with a big glob of melted chocolate on my butt, and nobody told me until the class was over. It seems that one of the chocolate chips on my protein bar I had eaten earlier fell off onto my car seat, and when I got in my car to go to my next class I sat on it and ended up with it plastered on my rear. <– These sorts of things happen to me all. of. the. time. And usually I forget about them and then nobody gets to bask in my embarrassed glory. But if I were vlogging the interesting parts of my day, that would certainly make the cut!
I was going to start on Monday, but then I figured i would wait and start fresh on May 1st! The plan is to record Monday-Saturday, and then upload that week on Sunday or Monday, so at the beginning of each week you can find out what kind of adventures I’ve had the previous week. I think it will be a lot of fun, and I hope you do to!
You might also notice some new fanciness at the bottom of this post, that would be one of the items that was on my “I’m currently ignoring it” list! 😉

Hi! I haven’t been following your blog for long, but how did you manage to teach children at school Zumba? I am looking for any tips to start up teaching.
Thank you!
They’ve always contacted me directly (from being in my classes or knowing me in general) so I don’t have any good tips for you. If you have your Zumba Kid’s license maybe contact your local schools/school board and see if they are looking for someone to do something like this with the kids!
