Happy Monday!
And indeed it IS a happy Monday!
First things first – I didn’t run last weekend. Between getting back in the swing of my usual class schedule, working on new routines for classes, and preparing for Friday’s Zumba Master Class (which took a LOT of time), but the time the weekend finally arrived I was way too exhausted (and sore!) to even think about running.
The good news is, because I’ve already run 18K, and my race isn’t for another 6 weeks, I can taper back for a couple weeks and then build back up and still be ready to go on October 20th.
So obviously I don’t have any run stats to share this week, but all runners know that cross training and strength training are every bit as important as running so I’m happy to report that I I’m back to teaching strength training (5 classes/week) and yoga twice/week as well as teaching 5 other classes (eep!) so I’m giving my cardio vascular system more of a break during the “work week” than I have in the past which should help me out too.
But on to the exciting stuff.
Friday night I had my 90’s and 00’s Zumba Master Class which was a fundraiser for team in training.
My eye catching outfit:
And remember last week when my “lofty” goal was to report that I only had $600 left to raise this week? Well how about this – I “officially” have $344 left to raise, but have donations for almost that amount coming in so I am pretty much at my fundraising goal!!!
Hallelujah!
I won’t get into full celebratory mode until that little thermometer reads 100% but it’s close enough now that I can stop having mini panic attacks and spending all of my time wraking my brain as to how on earth I’m ever going to raise all this money!
And that my friends, is why today is a happy Monday. My to-do list for today is/was full but was made up mostly of little easy to do things. Gotta love Mondays when you’re not running around like an insane person tearing your hair out <– That has been me every day for the past month or two.
