Hi everybody! I hope you’ve all been having a good weekend <3
About 1 1/2 weeks ago Zumba launched a new line of Zumba Wear online, those who went to the LA Conference have had this stuff for a while, but for the rest of us it’s new, and there is only one thing crazy Zumba instructors like more than new Zumba music, it’s new Zumba clothes!

On Thursday my order from Zumba Shop Canada finally arrived, and I figured I’d throw up some pictures of the new stuff I ordered and tell you what I thought about the sizing, fit etc. Zumba wear sizing is often very different from one release to the next and I know it helps me whenever I can get some insight on how things fit when placing my orders.
I will apologize in advance for the photos, I took them to send to some of my friends to help me decide on what to keep and what to send back, at the time I had no intention of publishing them online, if I had, I probably would have fixed my hair and cleaned my mirror 😉

This top isn’t from the new release, it’s the Flow Bubble Tank in Zumba Green from last fall I decided to pick it up because it was on sale and I really love my older bubble tanks. This is the M/L which is what all of my other bubble tanks are and I think it fits the same (and I heart it!). On the bottom I’m wearing the Flash ‘Em Paper Bag Capri in size medium. These are really comfy and soft. I really like them! I was concerned that the side pockets would make me look even hip-ier than I am but don’t. They will be perfect for the nights I teach a strength training class right after Zumba since you can move a bit more freely in them. Plie squat pulses in Zumba cargo pants isn’t my favourite thing 😉
Next up is the Galaxy Loose Racer Back, I ordered it in both Lemon

and Orchid.

Based on previous knowledge I sized down in this shirt and ordered a small. I know some people hate that they made this version of the Loose Racer Back much longer than previous versions, but i love it! I ordered two of the loose racer backs in the fall and ended up selling them. On my long torso I looked like I was wearing a toddlers baby doll dress. They look so great on so many other people, but the short length made my long torso look mega weird. I thought I still had the photos on my computer but I guess I deleted them. In the end I decided to keep the orchid version of the top and sent the lemon back. The fabric is quite thin which is great for keeping cool, but the lemon seemed pretty see-thru, and while I like burn-out tanks, they are suppose to be see through, I felt like this one just looked cheap.
In the above photo I’m also wearing the new black Stellar Samba Cargos. LOVE THEM. I always order my cargos in a large because I like them roomy. I find that the waistband on these is certainly more snug than some previous releases (I think they are on par with the shout outs and the cargos from last winter with the tassels on the pockets but not the back. What were those called? I’m not sure but these are the ones I mean:

Anyway, aside from the waistband I find the rest of the pant to fit normally, and because I buy mine larger than I need to I appreciate the tighter waist. I’m forever having to pull up my Fusions so they don’t fall down!
I also ordered the Sambas in the new blue colour

Again, total love. The bright blue with the yellow is just awesome sauce. In fact, I sold my beloved navy blue Fusions to a friend of mine last week since I decided to keep these beauties.
Pictured with the cargos is the new Zumba Toning instructor tank. In the past I’ve always ordered the tanks in a size medium, but the past year or two they seem to keep getting shorter and shorter! I miss the longer tanks from Zumba from back in 2010 and earlier. Anyway, I decided to order this in a large for the extra length and I’m glad I did. It’s a bit big overall, but a quick trip through the dryer should shrink it just enough.
I also ordered the Aqua Zumba instructor tank in a large

same deal here, a tad big but I’m so glad to have the extra length that I’ll deal with it.
New up is the new Instructor Jacket. I ordered my standard size medium, but it was huge on me. I wish I would have taken a better photo showing just how big it was, you could have easily put two of me in that jacket. If it had been a small, or maybe even an x-small I probably would have kept it, but since it wasn’t I sent it back.

Something else I sent back – the Oh, You Fancy Top. I really wanted to love this. I’ve always liked the previous versions of the fancy top (on other people) so was hoping I would like it. I ordered the M/L which fit great in the waist, but it was all kinds of sloppy up top. I don’t think it was made for me…

Now my friend Josie ordered the top (in the other colour) and it looks super adorable on her.

Just goes to show how no one item will work for everyone.
Something else that didn’t work? The Moonrise Crop Top. It looks so cute on the models and on me, it looked like I found a worn out shirt in the garbage and decided to wear it. :/

The last thing I ordered and really wanted to love was the baseball tee. I adore my baseball shirt from last year

And when I saw this year’s was a burnout tee I was SOOO excited! Then I found out it tied in the front and I felt a bit like I was back in grade 2 in the 80’s

I also tried it with a tank underneath, and liked it a lot more (mostly because it gave me more length)

but in the end the tie was a deal breaker and I sent it back. For sizing reference, I ordered this in a medium and it fit me well. The arms were a bit snug so if you don’t like your shirts snug in the arms I’d size up in this shirt.
You’ve probably notice that I have one of the new bras on in all of the photos, I ordered my standard size medium in the bra and I find it fits the same as past V Bras.
So there you have it, my thoughts on the new release and the sizing. If you ordered any of the items I didn’t review and would like to chime in with your two sense please let me know, I’d be happy to update the post with some of your photos/info on how you feel this new line shapes up compared to others.
This is soooooo very helpful! Thank you for posting!
I would love to order the Sambas but have no idea if they would really fit (I have – ahem – generous thighs and bum area) but this helps! I guess returning is always an option as long as they are not on sale.
I’m a hippy girl, and the pants I mentioned (the ones that I couldn’t think of the name of – that had tassels on the sides but not the back?), I had ordered a pair of those in my standard large but had to return them because they were still too tight in the hips. I think the fusions are the loosest in the hips/butt area of all of the cargos I’ve ever tried, but I don’t find these ones to be too bad. I say order them if you are placing an order and return them if they don’t fit. At least you’ll know when they go on sale if they work for you! I really do lurve them 😉
Are returns pretty easy?
If you’re in Canada and ordering from zumbashop.ca they send you a pre-paid postage thing with your order to return things, it’s super easy!
Thanks for all the information on how the different styles fit. Now the rest of us have a much better idea about what to order. Great pictures too!
I’m glad it helped!!
