I have received quite a few requests for my homemade baked pita chips recipe after posting photos on Instagram a few times in the past so I thought I’d post the recipe for easy reference!
Homemade pita chips are really easy to make, are much less expensive than the store-bought variety and since you’re making them yourself you can put any combo of flavours on them you like! I normally stick with plain pita chips but feel free to flex your imagination and make any kind you desire 🙂 Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Cut pitas into chip side portions, making sure to tear the two sections of the pita apart. You can leave them together, but the thicker chips tend not to get as crispy Put cut up pitas into a large ziplock bag or mixing bowl (the ziplock bag is the easiest way), drizzle with 2-3 Tbsp of EVOO and toss to coat all pieces evenly Spread pitas out on a parchment lined baking sheet in a single layer and sprinkle with salt. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Don't worry if they don't appear crispy, they crisp as they cool Enjoy! The parchment paper is key in preventing the chips from sticking to the baking sheet. I've tried using my silpat baking mats but they don't seem to work as well.

Notes
You will have to bake them in batches so that you don't over crowd the baking sheets.
If you would like to flavour your chips, add your seasonings after you have coated the pitas with olive oil to ensure the seasoning sticks.

Recently I made a batch adding dried dill for a dill pickle-like flavour and it was really yummy!
If you make these be sure to give them your own flavour twist!
Enjoy!
