Rose & Clara’s Half Birthday!

I’m taking this week off from Friday Faves in order to bring you this terribly important post. Today is Rose and Clara’s 6 month birthday! The kittens are officially 1/2 a year old!

Because I got such a fun response from my last kitten post I figured I’d do it again this month. Plus it’s always fun to be able to look back years from now and remember what these little girls were like as kittens!

These little girls continue to keep us busy, but as so darn cute it’s hard to be anything but happy when they are around.

Rose at 6 months

Weight: 6.8lbs (as of 2 weeks ago)

Long and lanky, clumsy with her feet and just a little bit derpy is Rose in a nutshell.

Likes:

• The blue snuggly blanket upstairs, and the brown blanket downstairs (the brown one is especially nice for suckling she finds)
• Chasing shadows
• Empty nail polish boxes (Jamberry)
• Snuggling up on the towels while mom takes a bath
• Playing in her water dish
• Cod, Sole and Shrimp dinner cat food (which of course is only sold in the multi-pack with Salmon – see below)

Dislikes:

• Salmon flavoured kitty food (but she can be tricked into eating it now and again
• When mom tries to move her when she is busy snuggling
• Not being allowed in the basement room 24/7
• Fancy water dishes. “Just give me a stainless steel bowl thankyouverymuch”

Clara

Current weight: 5.4lbs (as of two weeks ago)

She’s still very much the baby of the pair, but she’s also the brains behind the operation.

Likes:

• Napping in bed during the day
• Ceilings.
• Chasing her tail (especially on windowsills)
• Still loves when anybody (but especially papa) talks to her
• Sneaking under the lazy boy. No matter how hard we try to keep her out of there so we don’t crush her, she always finds a way back in
• Chewing on papa’s shoelaces (and stealing insoles whenever possible)

Dislikes:

• Raw carrots (their mere presence is highly offensive)
• Blinds. And curtains. And doors. Pretty much anything that keeps her from going where she wants to be.
• The wall of boxes keeping her from exploring the rest of the basement
• Dishtowels and paper towel. Nothing of the towel variety can be trusted. And that’s a fact.
• When mama or papa takes a spider/bug away that she’s fatally injured – but won’t kill.

These two are the life of the party for sure. They still love snuggling together, and both really like watching TV which is pretty cute.

I can’t believe they’ve been here for two months already!!
