When I was a kid my baby teeth were stubborn little things that didn’t want to fall out on their own, and I ended up having quite a few of them pulled out by the dentist, which was not super fun. Even now, the thought of being told I have a cavity and need a filling fills me with fear. I almost feel like I am going to jinx myself by saying this, but as I sit here typing I don’t have any fillings in my teeth, and frankly – I want to keep it that way.
So when Colgate challenged me to confess what I could be doing better to improve my health, more specifically my mouth health, I wasn’t sure what to confess. I do enjoy sweets on occasion, but I don’t eat sugary foods very often, I rarely drink pop or juice, and I don’t drink wine (which I know can be a bit of a tooth stainer).

But do you know what I don’t do as often as I should? Change my toothbrush. I go to the dentist twice/year for cleanings, but I probably go 8 months (or more) between toothbrush changes. And even then, it’s usually because my husband has mentioned he needs a new toothbrush that makes me think, “Yeah, I need to do that too…”
I know it’s important to switch out your toothbrush every few months, but it’s something that I simply don’t think about, but it feels so good when you do! Colgate recently sent me the toothbrush you see in the above picture, and I was pretty excited to swap it for my old one. That’s the weird thing, I’m always excited about getting a new toothbrush, so you’d think I’d remember to do it more often.

My confession would have to be the same. I am horrible with changing my tooth brushes. I do have two of them one in each bathroom and depending what time of the day it is I use either one but I never change my toothbrush. If it hasn’t worn down I feel like why should I change it.
I’m horrible at remembering to change out my toothbrush too! I actually didn’t realize how often it is supposed to happen. Another confession is flossing… I usually only floss once or twice a week although I know I need to floss everyday.
I’m another person who is horrible at changing their toothbrush.
I think I need to make sure I eat more fruit, though. I was eating at least one a day, but then I stopped paying attention.
I’m not a good and loyal flosser, but I’ve been hearing on the news that my sin is not so bad lol I too hang on to toothbrushes much too long!

I am not a flosser. I will floss like once a week or just when something is stuck in my teeth.
I too find it hard to remember to switch out my toothbrush..so now when I do switch to a new one I also take another one out, place a sticky note on it with a date to remember to switch every 3 months. Have a cousin-in-law who is a dental hygienst & is always on our cases to FLOSS, FLOSS, FLOSS, but you know how that goes…EEKK, but try to at least once a week.

I don’t floss enough.
Not s great flosser and my Dentist agrees. LOL But I wonder if he would agree about the new findings that it’s not that effective.
I would change my toothbrush every week if I didn’t think that was crazy! I’m always checking out the oral care aisle scoping for that perfect new toothbrush. Hubs thinks I’m crazy. I might be, but damn it , I like a fresh toothbrush and mouths are gross ?
I am bad at flossing! I do brush my teeth 2-3 times a day though!
Well I love going to the dentist…and teeth. However my confession would be that I don’t use the fluoride rinse like my dentist keeps trying to pound into my routine. It’s gross, annoying and I always forget. Probably should get on that since I’ve got “soft” teeth.

My dirty little secret (not to my dentist or hygienist, I’m sure) is I only floss when I feel some thing is suck in my teeth or every day one week before my next dentist appointment.
I just came from the dentist today and passed with flying colors. Even took my dog in for a cleaning earlier this week, and she, too, passed with flying colors lol. Don’t think there’s a day that goes by that I don’t look in their mouths. It’s so important to maintain good oral care as it can lead to so many problems otherwise. My downfall is I don’t dental floss nearly enough.
I change my toothbrush fairly often but see I am in need of a change again ?. I’m not so good at flossing….

I VERY RARELY FLOSS…MY TEETH ARE SO CLOSE TOGETHER ITS JUST NOT FUN.
Flossing has always been such a chore for me.. and I’m not great about changing my toothbrush frequently.
Don’t change out my toothbrush often enough either! Sometimes I use mouthwash as a substitute for brushing (soooo bad).
I floss when I remember – which, now that there are two kids, is not as often as it should be!
I hate flossing and sometimes forget on purpose.
It’s definitely time to change the brush on my electric toothbrush…actually it’s way past time… 😉
i don’t floss everyday like my dentist tells me so. i do switch toothbrushes every 2 months instead of 3 months. i use mouthwash about once a week when hubby uses it every day

The first thing I notice about other people is their teeth. As for my secret, I love the dentist. I would go each and every day. If I could get the tools, I would scrape the tartar myself. Instead, I use my nails but it’s not the same.

my oral health secret is very simple! Brush twice a day and most important floss after every meal. If you dont have the time for that at least make sure you are taking a min to floss before bed. makes such a difference in your gums and teeth

I definitly dont swop mine out as much as i should and buy them EVERYtime their on sale so not sure why i dont. I also dont floss everyday and want to work on improving that!
