Do Bondi Bands Stay In Place?

Disclosure: I was provided with this product free of charge through a campaign with Fit Approach and Boni Band in exchange for a review. All opinions expressed are 100% my own.

Is it just me, or does the search for the perfect headband never end? I’ve tried many slip less headbands in the past (for I time I was even making and selling my own), and still they all seem to slip off my fine, thick hair unless I clip them in place. So when given the opportunity to check out Bondi Bands I jumped at the chance, and late last week a package arrived with a band for me to try out!

In the past I’ve always been drawn to skinny headbands because wide headbands tend to instantly slide off my head, but I’m happy to report the Bondi Bands do stay on my head. What makes these different? Well unlike some other headbands these don’t have that rubber strip on the back (which always hurt my head) I can’t really explain what the backing feels like because it’s not sticky or rubbery at all you can sort of see what I mean in the picture below:

From Bondi Band:

Bondi Bands are composed of a unique blend of nylon, lycra, and spandex. The result is a stretchy yet form fitting band that holds up under the toughest hair styles and types.

But I know what you all want to know – do they stay in place? It depends. If you tuck the ends under to make the band smaller (like in the first picture) I have found that it does slide – but I expect that is because you are minimizing the amount of the non-slip backing that is touching your head. If you wear it the full width the way it’s meant to be worn like so:bondi-band2

I find they do stay in place really well! These types of headbands are perfect for sweaty workouts since the fabric can absorb sweat and keep it out of your eye 😉 This type of headband is quickly becoming my favourite when running when it’s chilly (because they double as ear warmers) and simply because I do find they stay in place really well.

And another thing that I think is super cool, is that they donate 10% of their earning to charity, and currently their Charity of choice is the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute which is pretty awesome.

Want a Bondiband of your own? Well aren’t you in luck! Bondiband sent me a couple to give away!

I like the slow is the new fast one! I’d probably wear it running, but you know Zumba is my fav way to sweat!

I picked one up at the Blue Nose expo and they told me to keep part of it touching my forehead to help it not slip. I wore it on my run this morning and it didn’t move! It was soaking wet with sweat after which means I had minimal sweat running in my eyes. Love it!

Oops! I just read the instructions… My favourite ways to sweat are running and Zumba and I’d love the “slow is the new fast” headband!

I like the “slow” one. That’s me in a nutshell, or so it feels like. PS Suzi, your headbands/elastics work great! 🙂

Thanks, I’m still pretty smitten with my hair ties, and I my headbands aren’t bad, but they do still slip on my slippery hair 😉

The slow band suits me best! 🙂
I love the Zumba Gold we were doing in Woodville; I’m also enjoying Kettle Bells in Berwick. Both good ways to work out. :0

I would love a chance to try this! I have never once found a headband that stays put – all that money wasted 🙁

I have a mini-trampoline and I love jumping on it. My hair is too short for a clip or hair tie so this would be perfect.

I like both of the headbands, but since I have to choose…Slow is the New Fast!

My favorite way to sweat is running or lifting weights!

I LOVE the slow is the new fast hairband! Ha ha. I feel the same way I can never find a good hairband (now my hair is short) but my daughter definitely needs to find a good one.
