I thought the best way to pay homage to 2012 was a photo post that shows the highlights of the year.
Going WAY back to February, I was fortunate enough to win a local business award for the second year in a row
For being a one-girl show it is really special that I’ve won it two times (even though they spelled my name wrong….whatevs).
Then I followed that up by being featured in CanFitPro Magazine in May/June
From here we move onto the trip triple header!
The first was back in June:
I hopped into a rental van with 4 other Zumba instructors and drove 20+ hours to Toronto to participate in Canada’s first ZIN Day. This trip also marked the first time I was “recognized” as a blogger – go me! 😀
Less than a month later J and I hopped on a plane to go on the trip I’ve been waiting my entire life to make. Disney World!
It truly was the happiest place on earth and now I want to go back again, and again, and again. I have a serious fever. Here are my posts from that trip:
What’s a trip to Orlando without a trip to Hogwarts? I was in total dork heaven.
I was home for a mere three weeks before I took off again, this time to NYC for BlogHer. I’ve never travelled alone before, and after what went down I’m not sure I ever will want to again :/ I wrote about the craziness that ensued upon my arrival there , but my trip back when I got stuck in Newark airport alone, with no money, for more than a day I did not write about. Al you get from that story is a picture of me below taken at hour 22 in the airport, and hour 34 of being awake…
New York Posts:
Once again this year I tied up my laces and ran the Valley Harvest 5K on (Canadian) Thanksgiving Weekend. I was sick with a head and chest cold (meaning barely breathing) so my time wasn’t what I hoped, but I still did it!
The next batch of excitement came when ZIN 41 (which was filmed durning ZIN Day) arrived and I could see myself on the DVD 😀 I’m in the shot below – it’s like a game of where’s Waldo!
In November I decided to shoe up one more time for the year and ran another 5K, this time at Murray Muir Winery.
From there on out, I mostly coasted into my Christmas Vacation without doing anything terribly notable. I was sick, and injured, and tired. Thankfully over the past week I have recovered from my injury and have had lots of time to rest so I’m ready to take 2013 by the horns and get started!
What was your most memorable moment(s) from 2012?
Looks like you had an amazing year! I saw that issue of CanFitPro but didn’t make the connection!
Here’s to an even better 2013!
Thanks – same to you 🙂
Oh my gosh, I just went back and read your post about flying into Newark…total nightmare. Glad you lived to tell the tale; those taxi drivers in New York are insane! Other than that, sounds like you had a great year!
Sadly that was the GOOD experience at Newark airport! When I got back I told everybody to steer clear of that airport and nobody listened to me, 3 friends got stuck over night there on their way home from FLorida, my Aunt had to stay 3 extra days, and another friend got delayed 6 hours! I used to think I didn’t like Philly Airport because I’ve been stuck there for 6 hours before, but I’ll take that place any day, they’ve got all sorts of stores and isn’t set up nearly as weird as Newark! But yes, other than that it was a pretty great year 🙂
