I realize it still feels more like March than May, but on days like last Saturday when we got a glimpse of summer, it got me thinking about a few summer wardrobe essentials. There are a few pieces that every girl should have in her closet ready to go when the sun finally decides to show its pretty face.
First up is the jean jacket. You just cannot go wrong with this spring and summer staple. Mine is from Old Navy and was one of those pieces that as soon as I tried it on I knew it was a keeper. My previous jean jacket was a cropped jacket and the cut of it wasn’t great for me. As soon as I tried this one on I was smitten.
I loved the distressed wash and it fits me really well and quickly has become one of my favorite pieces. 
Next up is a great pair of sunglasses. I’m totally loving my new shades from SmartBuyGlasses.ca. I tend to have a lot of trouble with sunglasses being too big for the bridge of my nose and falling down all of the time and pinching the sides of my head giving me a headache. And I am happy to report that these do neither.
And let’s face it, they look pretty fab while keeping the sun out of my eyes!
A simple, comfortable sundress is next on my list of summer essentials. I’ve had so many compliments on this dress and I’ve only had the opportunity to wear it once so far. It too is from Old Navy (similar styles can be found here). It is cool and comfortable and easy to wear. It is a jersey fabric making it super simple to care for (read – no ironing) and makes you look more put together than you actually are 😉 which is always a nice plus.
Finally, I love me a good pair of sandals but sometimes you want something a bit more protective which is why I love my slip-on Converse. Apparently, I’m too lazy to bother with tying shoes and these are easy to slip in and out of and still look great with a sundress.
Now, if we could just get a little bit more summer weather so I can fully enjoy my summer wardrobe I would really be happy!
