A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of being asked to attend the Shoppers Love. You. Weekend Moncton 2018. Some of you may remember that I attended this event in 2016 and had such an amazing time I was truly thrilled to be asked to go again.
I was even more excited when I found out Zoe and Kayla were also returning and that Sarah would be joining us once we arrived in Moncton. And thanks to Kayla, we were able to borrow the Ford Escape from Ford Canada to for our road trip which made for the perfect road trip vehicle!

We hit the road Friday afternoon and made it to Moncton in time to grab Sarah for a late supper, some catching up in our hotel room and then we headed to bed early knowing we had an action-packed two days ahead.
Saturday
PC Cooking School: Shoppers Run for Women Gourmet Cooking Class
After a quick breakfast, we headed to the Riverview Atlantic Superstore for a custom cooking class with Chef Peter Woodworth (originally from Kentville!) and dietitian Whitney Mabee.
We were split up into pairs and each pair got their own cooking station and made Greek Green Beans.
It’ wasn’t a competition but you know, I think Zoe and I really did a good job with ours because they were DELICIOUS!
Then Chef Woodworth showed us how to make his Slow Roasted Wild Salmon and Fried Quinoa,
and we finished with Avocado Lime Chia Pudding which was the perfect dessert for our heart-healthy meal!
Shoppers Beauty Gala
Next, we headed to the Shoppers Beauty Gala at the SDM at Champlain Place for a makeover and mini shopping spree!
The Beauty Galas held in Moncton that weekend benefited the Beausejour Family Crisis Resource Centre.
It’s always fun to let someone else do your makeup even though everyone always thinks the same thing when they get their hands on me – dark hair, pale skin – she needs red lips. Mind you I never wear red lipstick so I always feel super awkward haha, but that’s probably because I’m more of a tinted lip balm girl 😀
After all of our makeovers, we were running short on time so we scrambled back to our hotel to get ready for the NB Heart Truth event. It gave me the perfect excuse to wear my sparkly bow headband!
10th Annual NB Heart Truth
This event presented by Shoppers LOVE. YOU. was in support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation and is held at the Casino New Brunswick. We clean up pretty well!
After the red carpet reception, we made our way to our seats for the Red Dress Fashion Show,
which was followed by Walk Off The Earth in concert!
It was one of the best concerts I’ve ever attended and we were lucky enough to have VIP seating. #blessed
After the concert, we made our way back to our hotel and hit the hay knowing we had a 5k awaiting us in the morning!
Sunday
Ahhhh, room service. Need I say more?
Shoppers LOVE. YOU. Run for Women
The morning started out looking quite ominous, but we got lucky and the skies cleared and we had amazing weather for our 5k!
The Moncton Shoppers LOVE. YOU. Run for Women also benefited the Beausejour Family Crisis Resource Centre and it was wonderful to see how many participants were there supporting the cause.
And what was even more exciting was getting to meet up with my old (old as in I don’t run anymore, she’s still young 😉 )running buddy Laura who also there.
My trademark race pigtails were in full effect, haha.
Post-5k selfie – we did it!
After the 5k we went back to the hotel to collect up our belongings and check out. Thank goodness I have these long old arms because I had SO MANY BAGS haha
It was a little ridiculous. All in all, I had an AMAZING weekend once again and feel so fortunate to have these experiences, nevermind getting to have them with my friends. It was a weekend I’ll never forget, and if you aren’t tired of hearing about it you can watch my travel vlog of the weekend to see more of what we did!
Disclosure: While Shoppers Drug Mart and President’s Choice paid for my travel, accommodations and the events while I was away, I was not required to write this blog post. I’m choosing to still mark it as sponsored as I do have an ongoing relationship with PC and SDM and never want to confuse you regarding when I am being paid or getting some extra perks. 🙂
MISS YOU GIRLS ALREADY :(:(
