Us bloggers can get a little passionate about our favourite tools, and to say I’m passionate about trying to get EVERYONE to try CoSchedule is an under statement.
In every mastermind and blogging group I’m part of this is a topic that has come up in the past two weeks and I keep telling everyone about how obsessed I am with CoSchedule. I rambled about it on a Periscope stream for well over half an hour one day, and started blathering on about it in a session at BlogJam a few weeks back.
I’m smitten.
And since I’ve tried telling so many people why it’s so awesome, I decided to make a video. This is particular exciting because up until today I’ve never recorded a screen share, or recorded a voice over from my phone and then put it on top of the video so I was pretty excited about that too. And who knew? It was easy as pie! That’s why I’ve decided to make this a weekly thing – #SocialSunday where I share my favourite tips and tricks for making the most out of your blogging and social media. Even if you’re not a blogger hopefully you will find these posts helpful and interesting. Because I don’t normally post on the weekends, I figured it was a good time for a slightly “off topic” type post.
Because this was my first jab at recording my screen well, it stops pretty abruptly because I didn’t think to leave some time at the end to re-cap and finish it off #fail. I guess that just leaves me lots of room for improvement next time, right?
What I really like is that I can truly get all the shares scheduled for a certain post without leaving that post’s window (although I typically still go and enter them manually in Facebook, though I’m not convinced that the organic reach is better that way), and that I can go to the main calendar and see everything all in one place. It makes it super easy to make sure you are sharing on all the platforms you want to be on a consistent basis, and really easy to share attractive looking posts for old content.
If you are still using Revive Old Post or another plugin, you really need to try CoSchedule. Yes, it takes a few more minutes but never again to you have to open Twitter to find your plugin has shared an old or outdated post or giveaway. I swear regardless of how careful you are at excluding categories and tags some always slip through.
Even if you think the paid version is too expensive for you, install it for the free trial, you can extend the trial for quite a few weeks but sharing on social media, and you might end up like me – not able to go back when the trial is up! I’ve been paying for this service for over a year and it has been worth every penny (and I’m in Canada, so it costs me a few more pennies with our exchange rate). And as I mention in the video, if you want the service you can save 50% off for a year if you submit a review to them. I haven’t done this because I’m happy paying the fee as it is, but I know if you are on the fence that savings might be enough to make you go for it.
In case you can’t tell, I realllllly like coschedule, so if you are a blogger I think you should at least give it a try.
