It’s the Little Things

Heeeeeeeeey! I hope you had a great weekend! I sure did! šŸ™‚

Last week was a bit of a weird week for me. I was still dealing with a bit of a fibromyalgia flair up, and spent a good portion of the week feeling sorry for myself. I always feel guilty about feeling sorry for myself because I could have it so much worse in every single way, but I think now and again it’s good to sit with your feelings and let them happen so you can get past them, so that’s what I did.

And as a result there was a bit more of this going down that usual…

hotchocoalte

Man I love that stuff.

It probably didn’t help that our pellet stove isn’t working right now, and it’s been pretty chilly so we’ve been snuggled up with electric heaters. And by we, I mean Pekoe…

He’s obsessed.

By Friday I was coming out of my funk. Partly because I got mail šŸ˜€

sweatlist

And seriously, don’t we all need a, ā€œLet’s get sweatyā€ top? I know I did. And you can’t really see because the photo is blurry but they (they being Jamie and Alyse) sent Ā some Awesome bars (2 pictured, one was already in my belly), hemp hearts and hemp protein, a headband, drawstring backpack and some coupons. I got this package for being part of the Sweat Guru Sweat List Pro. Pretty sweat(y)!

And another wonderful thing happened on Friday. After an entire year I got my hair cut! YAHOO!!!! I went from this lovely plop of hair on my head

pre-hair

To no pony tail at all!

after

That’s not entirely true, I can get a little stump of a pony back there, but not much. So. Much. Better.

Saturday afternoon Cathy and I went to the Acadia Craft Fair, where we mostly purchased thing for ourselves, and then stopped at McCafe for a little peppermint mocha happiness on our way home

cup

I love the festive cups!!

And then on Sunday the most magical thing happened. My dad built us a kitchen island and we’ve been waiting for the countertop to come and my brother came today with the outer and installed it and my new (second) sink! I’m so excited I can’t even tell you! We didn’t have a double sink in our kitchen which means if the sink is full of dishes you can’t really use it for anything else. That meant I was forever running to the bathroom to strain veggies or pasta, wash my hands, rinse things out, etc. With the new island that also means we have a dishwasher so J is pretty exiited about not having so many dishes to wash šŸ˜‰

Just look how purdy it is!

sink

I’m completely smitten.

And of course I capped the weekend off with a trip to the theatre to see The Hunger Games : Mocking Jay Part 1. I had considered re-reading the last book prior to seeing the movie since it had been probably 4 years since I read it, but I decided not to and I’m glad I did. Sometimes when a story is fresh in your mind it makes you that much more critical of all the things that are ā€œwrongā€ with the movie, and since I only vaguely remember what happened in the last book I didn’t have any of those moments.

Did anyone else see the movie this weekend? If so what did you think? And don’t you love my new sink!? Oh, maybe that’s just me šŸ˜‰
