GOSH Cosmetics Review

What is more fun for a girls than getting free make-up? Maybe (if you’re me) getting free sneakers, butย either way, make-up is pretty rad. And getting an email from Chick Advisor telling you you will be getting not one, not two but FOUR items from GOSH Cosmetics to review as part of their #GOSHGoddness campaign is even better!

ย You can see from the photo above that I received:

  • Lip Lacquer #6
  • Double Precision Mascara
  • Mineral Powder
  • Giant Blush

I’ve used mineral powder in the past and have never been that pleased with it. I’ve always found it to leave my skin looking very dry and made it very obvious that I was wearing something that wasn’t blending in well. I’m happy to report that I haven’t had that issue with this powder. It gives a nice medium to full coverage so I’ve been wearing it exclusively to even out my skin tone since it arrived. I’m a big fan of this one!

The Double Precision Mascara intrigued me. As someone with naturally long lashes, I’ve never been able to wear mascara on my bottom lashes without it looking like I had spider legs down there, hahaha. So I was excited to try this product out and I’m pretty happy that the smaller brush end which is meant for lower lashes, adds colour without making me feel like I’ve got an insect hanging out down there ๐Ÿ˜‰

I did an “eye to eye” comparison with the GOSH Double Precision Mascara on one eye, and my current fav mascara AVON’s Mega Impact on the other eye. You can sort of see what I mean, the side using AVON’s mascara I clearly have mascara on my skin and it makes my bottom lashes so much longer. It’s not a look I’m fond of…

Left is AVON, right is GOSH. Please excuse the awkward photos/formatting. Evidentially it’s very weird taking photos of your eye ๐Ÿ˜‰ and the computer doesn’t want them to look pretty in the post!

I have to say though, I’m still team Mega Impact for the top lashes, but the bottom lashes are GOSH all the way.

Blush sticks are something I already knew I was a fan of, while I adore my NARS blush, there is something about being able to apply blush without any brush that makes me happy. I really like the giant blush and am happy to hear it is perfume and paraben-free as that is something I am looking for in my skin care products these days.

Lastly….the lip lacquer. Anyone who knows me can probably count the number of times they’ve seen me wearing a lip colour of any sort on one hand…that is closed into a fist. It’s just not something I’ve ever been comfortable with for some reason. I will wear a lip gloss with some colour in it but usually that is as exciting as I get so this bright red lip lacquer is w-a-y out of the box for me, but I gave it a go!

I don’t think it’s horribly tragic do you? The lacquer itself is very comfortable to wear. It’s neither overly dry or overly wet/sticky. It feels like a thin gloss but with mega colour. I don’t know, I might actually be able to get myself to wear this outside of my bathroom ๐Ÿ˜‰

Give it to me straight, can I pull it off? Or should I go back to the plain lip gloss (like in the photo at the top)?

GOSH Cosmetics are found exclusively at Shopper’s Drug Mart locations

Disclosure: I was provided with these products free of charge from Chick Advisor in exchange for my honest review on their website.

Aww thanks! I guess I’m just not big on wearing lip colour so I feel a bit “flashy” ๐Ÿ˜‰
