Disclosure: I was provided with a pair of prescription glasses from Select Spec’s Economy collection free of charge in exchange for my honest review, and that is exactly what you are about to read!
I know most of the time y’all see me, or see pictures of me I’m not wearing glasses, and that’s because I have a minor prescription and usually wear them for long drives (especially at night) and watching movies, oh and of course when I want to look extra smart. 😉
When I got my first pair of glasses in my early 20’s my eye doctor said I didn’t really need to wear them, my eyes wouldn’t get worse if I didn’t but if I found them helpful to wear to wear them as much as I liked. Well as it turns out I chose a couple terrible frames that made my lenses much too small and I felt nauseated wearing them for any length of time. So I didn’t wear any for nearly 10 years. It was only 1 1/2 years ago that I got a new pair and started wearing glasses again (in the meantime my eyesight had actually become better which is why I didn’t bother to get new frames).
I love my glasses, but even with health insurance they cost me a couple hundred dollars so I’m always afraid I’ll break them so when I was offered the opportunity to check out Select Specs I was excited to do so! For the past year I’ve been lusting quite seriously over a pair of two toned glasses, and I was really excited when I found a number of similar pairs in the Economy section of their online store. All of the frames in the Economy section cost $39.37 or less and that includes the lenses with your prescription!
Since I was ordering glasses online, I did a quick Google search to find the frame size of my current glasses to make sure I chose a pair that would fit (I have a very skinny nose so need a pair with a small bridge). After a very long and painstaking evening I chose the Infinity frames in black/white, I input my prescription and uploaded a copy of it to their servers (so they could double check to make sure I gave them the right info – I was paranoid that I would enter it wrong so it’s nice that they give you that option!).
And then there was nothing to do but wait. The glasses come from overseas (Asia I believe) so you do a have a little bit of a wait between the time you order and when they arrive. However, I think mine came in about two weeks which is about how long it takes for things to arrive from next door in the US so I thought that was pretty reasonable.
As for my glasses… I love them.

It’s kind of hard to see but they have a cute little bunny design on the sides!

Have you ever purchased glasses online? If so would you do it again?
I gotta say, while I like to have one pair of higher quality glasses I’m a big fan of the more affordable options Select Specs offers and I wouldn’t be surprised to see myself ordering another pair after my next trip to the eye doctor!
