Volume 49

It’s that time of the month again!!!!  My new music has arrived!  It showed up on Friday but I haven’t had a chance to check out the DVD yet (planning to do that later this afternoon) so I’ll reserve my opinion on how I like it until I’ve watched that.  Here are the songs found on this month’s ZIN along with videos for any I could easily find on youtube!

Te Gusta (Mergenue Electronica) – Grupo Treo

Limbo (Urban Calypso) – Daddy Yankee

Pachanga (Salsa) – Zumba Fitness Original

Nada de Nada (Cumbia Electronica) – Zumba Fitness Original

No Wiri Wiri (Dembow) – El Alfa

Work (Hip-Hop/Dance) – Lil Jon

Largadinho (Axe) – Claudia Leite

and a bonus video fro mZumba with the “official” choreo for this song!

Diosa de los Corazones (Reggaeton) – Arcangel Zion & Lennox RKM Ken-Y Lobo

Arabe Strings (Middle Eastern Fusion) – Zumba Fitness Original

Unfortunately it’s a song by Zumba Fitness so you can’t buy it unless they release it to the public on an album in the future.

Hello there, I just became certified to teach Zumba. I signed up for Zin thinking that they would send a DVD with new music and choreographies. It looks like it is just a CD with no choreographies? Am I paying for just the CD which comes every two months? You talk about a DVD, how often is that released? Sorry to ask so many questions, I am new to this and I was glad to find your website. Thank you!

Hello, I take Zumba classes 1 to 3 times a week since 4 years. I am now able to follow the choreographic and the dances pretty much as well as my teacher. However, my instructor is the main instructor in our state and I think she is better than most of the “average” instructors. I feel that I could never be as good as her, so I am a little shy to go and take my instructor’s formation. How can I know if I could be good enough to teach a beginner’s course? Should I ask her if she thinks I could do it, or should I follow the course, and the try to apply and the i’ll know in the interviews?

      Hi Caroline,

If it’s something you want to do, you should just do it. You don’t need to have any experience to become an instructor, and the worst thing you can do is doubt yourself before you even try. You’ll never be the same as your instructor, that doesn’t mean you would be worse, you’d just be different. We all are. We all have our own styles and quirks that make us, us.

If this is something you want to do, do it! You can always decide after the training that you don’t want to teach your own classes (many do decide that) but if you are really keen on becoming an instructor I say do it. You don’t need anyone’s permission or approval 🙂 Good luck!!

Did you attend any masters class events yet? I’d say if you can comfortably hang with a couple of masters class then you’ll make a good instructor. Also if you can teach with and without a mirror it’s the mark of a good instructor.
